Tracey is a Belfast-based abstract artist working primarily with acrylics, spray paint, and pastels. Inspired by the energy of Basquiat, Picasso, and Leonid Afremov, her work is rooted in neo-expressionism, blending bold colours with raw emotion. Tracey’s journey began over 15 years ago in an art class where she was introduced to acrylic painting. Since then, she has developed her own distinctive style by experimenting, studying other artists, and embracing the freedom of self-expression. Her practice often centres around characters—both real and imagined—capturing their quirks, flaws, and complexities. She is particularly drawn to portraying figures who inspire or disturb her, transforming emotion into striking visual narratives. Tracey’s work has been exhibited in Cult, a group show where she presented pieces from her Parasite series. She also collaborates with Sip ‘n Paint events across Belfast, encouraging others to explore creativity as a pathway to self-expression and mental well-being. Looking ahead, Tracey is eager to expand her practice through new exhibitions and commissioned works, sharing her art with a wider audience while continuing to inspire others to pick up a brush.
